Why's this happening!

Ok. Water temp is 85, let it hydrate for 60 seconds, let it sit 20 seconds after activating. When i go to dip the item,it's not liquefied, it's like melted plastic almost. What am i doing wrong? TIA

Lot more info needed- basecoat, activator type, setup (HVLP or aerosol)...if it isn't liquefied it sounds like lack of activator.

The pictures you are presenting show the film acting like it should be acting.... Can you do it again and take a video? that would help us help you better. As a first diagnosis, the 85 degrees and 60 seconds is the problem. 60 seconds dwell time is for 90-degree water. 85-degree water MAY need 90 seconds dwell time to reach the correct centipoise softness for dipping.

Yeah I agree with Studebaker. The film is more of a gel when you dip through it, not just water.
