Gel coated stocks

I recently took in a Winchester SX3 to camo. The synthetic stock has a gel coating on it that I have not seen. Has anyone of you folks come across that and if so, what did you use to remove the gel? It has literally taken me two days of stripper, citrus stripper and soaking in acetone to get it off. This stuff is TOUGH!! Any pointers on anything that would strip it off quicker?? Thanks in advance!!

We do a lot of this stripping for Browning/Winchester. there is a paint stripper that Menards carries that works very well. It is a two minute stripper, and the best thing we have found. It still takes a scraper and a lot of time.

That is exactly what I’m referring to. The rubbery feel clear. Thanks for the info, I’ll. Heck that out!!
