Aqualac question

ImmortalImmortal Posts: 261Member ✭✭✭
i have been using some aqualac lately and having some issues. I am using a cheap spray gun with 1.5 tip and have tried the 1.4 tip also. I get my gun dialed in and it starts off spraying beautifully then after a bit it starts throwing chunks of paint onto the part and the gun plugs up. Is it my cheap gun or something else?

I plan to buy a decent gun for base coat next so recommendations are welcome I will be using mostly aqualac and ohw through it.

are you straining your paint? try that and should solve your problem

Yeah sounds like you have chunks in your paint already if it's plugging your gun. After a while of spraying I always get some buildup on the nozzle of my gun w Aqualac. But it will wipe away.

Once you've done all of that make sure your compressor isn't throwing stuff into your lines. Put a line filter & a filter at your gun.

Agreed, probably need to strain your paint. Buy a bunch of the mesh paint filters from TCP global.
